Regional Sales Manager – USA (Fort Wayne, IN.)

Fort Wayne Wire Die, Inc. (FWWD) is seeking an experienced, results-driven Regional Sales Manager to join our sales team and grow our presence across the Midwest and West.

This is a highly visible, relationship-driven sales role responsible for managing existing customer relationships, developing new business, expanding market share, and driving profitable growth throughout an assigned Midwest & West territory.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated sales professional who can build relationships at multiple levels within an organization, identify opportunities, understand customer needs, and turn those opportunities into profitable business. Experience selling technical or industrial products is highly valued.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities within the assigned Midwest territory.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term sales strategies designed to increase profitable market penetration.
  • Make regular sales calls and customer visits to existing, prospective, and developmental accounts.
  • Build strong, multi-level relationships with customers, including purchasing, engineering, operations, management, and executive-level contacts.
  • Develop annual account plans for key customers and identify opportunities to increase sales, product penetration, and customer share.
  • Work closely with the Global Sales Manager to establish territory sales strategies, goals, forecasts, and priorities.
  • Identify and pursue new markets, customers, applications, and business opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, industry developments, and competitive activity.
  • Evaluate competitor products, pricing, capabilities, and market position and communicate findings to management.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, specification, and activity information within the company’s CRM system.
  • Provide reliable short- and long-term sales forecasts to support budgeting, production planning, and business decisions.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering to communicate customer requirements, special projects, specifications, and special orders.
  • Help ensure customer needs are understood internally and followed through to completion.
  • Maintain current product and specification information with active customers.
  • Participate in sales meetings, strategic planning, special projects, and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Travel regularly (30%+; not all overnight travel though) throughout the assigned territory to meet with customers and prospects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, technical, engineered products, or B2B sales strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop new business while growing existing accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to understand technical products and communicate effectively with engineers, purchasing professionals, operations personnel, and executives.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand pricing, profitability, market share, and competitive positioning.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Previous supervisory or sales management experience is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

The Right Person for This Role

We are looking for more than someone who simply takes orders.

The successful candidate will be a hunter and relationship builder—someone who actively looks for opportunities, asks good questions, understands the customer’s business, develops relationships at multiple levels, and finds ways to grow the account.

If you are competitive, commercially minded, technically curious, and motivated by growing a territory and winning new business, we’d like to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to represent an established manufacturing company with a strong industry reputation
  • High level of ownership over an assigned sales territory
  • Opportunity to develop and grow existing accounts while building new business
